The NLF Pastor Search Committee met on June 6th to review a new round of candidate resumes. 7 men were reviewed.
As we receive candidate information we have found that, at times, it can be outdated and the candidate may have accepted a position at another church. The PSC has decided to reach out to one of those candidates to find out his current employment status. Please be praying for each and every candidate that passes thru the NLF PSC. Each of these men are seeking to serve God and we want to honor that, even if it is not at NLF of Graham. Please also continue to pray for the Leadership and PSC as we work thru each name, discerning God’s will. The NLF Pastor Search Committee (PSC) has reviewed 9 candidates as of late May. As Terry announced mid-May, we had a telephone interview with one candidate and researched the references he had provided. That candidate has since accepted a position at another church and withdrawn his name from consideration.
The PSC will continue to review additional candidate resumes from Church Venture NW or other sources beginning at our next meeting, June 6th. Please continue to JOYFULLY pray for this search process. It is a privilege to serve Him and it is all in God’s hands! Thank you PSC Team The Pastor Search Committee met on April 18th. The PSC has now reviewed 6 candidate resumes.
Thru Church Venture, we have requested additional information on one candidate and are likely to receive 2 additional candidate resumes this week. The process of identifying the next Senior Pastor for New Life Fellowship is a difficult one but with God’s leading we are confident we will find the right man. Please continue to pray as a body for the NLF leadership, the PSC and all the potential candidates as we make our way thru the search process. The Pastor Search Committee met on April 4th . During that meeting we met with Luke from Church Venture NW and reviewed 3 Senior Pastor candidate resumes.
The initial review of those three candidates is complete. We expect one, and possibly two, additional candidate resumes prior to our next PSC meeting on April 18th. We have not narrowed our search to any single candidate at this time. Thank you for your continued prayer! The Pastor Search Committee has now received resumes from Church Venture and will begin an initial review process of those names. Our first review as a group will take place April 4th.
Once the initial review is complete, we will either select a single candidate for further review or request additional candidates for review. It is not our intention, as the PSC, to have multiple candidates under review at the same time. Rather we intend to review and pray about each candidate individually and consider that candidate to the point that God either opens or closes the door on that man. As with all things, God will guide us through this process and we are open to His leading and direction. We are flexible and understand the process is much less important than the result. This will require much prayer and discernment as we enter the difficult and exciting next phase. Please join us in prayer for clarity and discernment for the PSC, NLF Elders and our future Pastor. Jason Abston for PSC Update: Pastor Search Committee (PSC) met Monday February 21st. PSC has now submitted, via the Elder Board (John Devore), our profiles to Church Venture. The review of those profiles by Church Venture are now complete. This is the last step before Church Venture to begins to match our profile with Senior Pastor candidates in their system.
At the recent meeting, PSC reviewed the suggested initial phone interview questions provided by Church Venture. Those questions are provided to assist search committees format the initial phone interviews, once the range of candidates is narrowed. The PSC has revised and amended a few of those questions, as well as adding some of our own. We are hopeful a review of potential candidate names/resumes will begin at our next meeting. That review will be followed up by either 1) a request for additional candidate names or 2) brief phone interviews of candidates that match the profile sought by NLF leadership. Next PSC meeting is March 7th Jason Abston, NLF PSC Pastor Search Committee (PSC) has submitted our Church, Community and Pastor profiles to Church Venture. Those profiles are now being reviewed by CV.
The first round of potential candidates will be provided to the PSC when the CV review is complete. PSC next meeting will be February 21st We ask for your continued prayer for NLF leadership, Pastor Search Committee, our new Senior Pastor and the Meadens during this process. Thank you!! Jason Abston, NLF PSC The New Life Fellowship leadership has chosen Church Venture NW to assist our Pastor Search Committee (PSC) in locating potential Senior Pastor candidates. Church Venture will use church, community and Senior Pastor profiles, prepared by the Elder board and PSC, to match New Life with candidates that best fit the criteria. The final drafts of our church, community and pastor profiles will be forwarded to Church Venture, likely within the next week. It is very likely we will begin initial review of resumes for Senior Pastor candidates within the next few weeks.
The Pastor Search Committee will meet twice each month (more often if necessary) throughout the search process until a Senior Pastor is placed. The PSC will provide an update on the NLF website after each meeting and announce brief updates during Sunday service as time allows. Our goal is to communicate continuously and as effectively as possible with the congregation throughout the process. The NLF website will likely have the most recent update the PSC is able to share. As a body, please continue to devote yourself to prayer for NLF leadership, Pastor Search Committee, our new Senior Pastor (and his family) and the Meaden’s as we all transition through the coming months.
